Cogdell Announces Savvy Sitters Class

Babysitting is a great way to earn extra money and help out families in the community. This class is designed to help individuals between 13-18 years old gain the confidence and skills they need to be a successful babysitter.

Safety: Keeping the children and environment safe
• CPR & Basic First Aid
• Emergencies – when to call for help (911, poison control, etc.)
• Household safety: chocking prevention, preventing falls & dangerous chemicals
• Fire safety: Nathan Hines, Snyder Fire Department Fire Marshall
• Keeping you and the children safe: Snyder Police Department
• Privacy Concerns
• Water Safety

Information Management
• Keeping track of contact information
• Allergies
• Ground Rules
• Managing your Business
• Etiquette for booking and canceling jobs
• Guidelines for payment
• How to publicize your business
Child Care Essentials
• Preventing problem behavior
• Age-appropriate activities
• Infant and toddler care
