Cogdell Memorial Hospital Laboratory offers comprehensive clinical Laboratory and anatomic pathology services. The laboratory is staffed by highly trained licensed Pathologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientists and Phlebotomist.

Hours of Operation

Out-Patient Testing Service Open:
Monday – Saturday from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm
Sunday from 10:00 am to 2:30 pm

In-Patient Testing Service Open:
24 hrs/day, 7 days/week

To Register For Laboratory Tests
  1. Stop at the Laboratory Admissions registration desk, as indicated by the green arrow (also known as the “Rock Wall”)
  2. “Ring the doorbell” at the Lab Main Entrance, as indicated by the blue arrow, when Lab/Admissions registration is complete.

Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine Testing

Blood Group and typing (ABORh) Antibody Screens, Antibody Identification, Direct Anti-globulin test, Crossmatching and Transfusion of Blood, Plasma, Platelets or Cryoprecipitate for patient transfusion and Fetal-maternal Hemorrhage test for D-positive RBC’s in D-Negative Mothers.

Breath Alcohol Testing

Ethanol (ETOH) Quantitative Breath test.  Blow into a BAT (Breath Alcohol Test) meter for test results. Test performed 24 hours a day/7 days a week.  The lab has a certified Breath Alcohol Technician.

Identification and Sensitivity of Bacteria from various sources of the body (Blood, Eye, Genital, Open sours or wounds of the body, Sputum, Stool, Throat, Urine and any other Aerobic and Anaerobic bacterial and fungal Culture sources), KOH preps, Wet Preps, Occult Blood and Gastric Occult blood and pH, C. Difficile Toxin, H. Pylori Antibody

Parasitology Testing

Ova and parasite examination, Malarial Smears, Scotch Tape prep for Pinworms, Microscopic examination of skin for mites, etc.

Pathology & Cytology

Gross and Microscopic analysis of Pathology and Cytology Specimens. These specimens are sent to Ameripath Pathology Group in Lubbock, Texas.

Collection site for many employers to collect DOT and Non–Dot Urine Drug Screen Test.  We have at least 10 certified Urine Drug Screen Collectors and can provide observed collections if necessary.

Billing

The hospital contracts with AmeriPath Pathology Group for the completion of laboratory interpretative and diagnostic tasks (requested by your doctor) pursuant to your specimen. The hospital and pathology group may have separate fee structures and billing procedures and will bill separately.
