Cogdell Memorial Hospital is proud to offer General Outpatient Surgery Services to the patients of Scurry and surrounding counties. The Outpatient Surgery Center offers the convenience of surgery close to home under the skilled hands of a highly respected surgeon, Dr. Travis Eggl, while in the state-of-the-art outpatient surgical suites at Cogdell Memorial Hospital.
Dr Travis Eggl is board certified in general surgery and fellowship trained in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He grew up on a farm and ranch in North Dakota. He went to Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and then medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of South Alabama, finishing his training with a fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Eggl now has a bariatric and foregut surgery practice in Lubbock, Texas, with West Texas Bariatrics at SWAT Surgical Associates, a comprehensive multidisciplinary weight loss program serving West Texas and Eastern New Mexico. He is the bariatric surgery medical director and vice chief of general surgery at Covenant Medical Center. Dr. Eggl performs a variety of laparoscopic and robotic gastrointestinal surgeries including sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, bariatric surgery revisions, LINX procedure, fundoplication, paraesophageal/hiatal hernia repair, and reflux surgery revisions. Dr. Eggl provides weekly regional general surgery clinics in Lubbock and in Snyder and performs outpatient surgery at Cogdell Memorial Hospital in Snyder, Texas and Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. He is a member of ASMBS (American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery), SAGES (Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons), and ACS (American College of Surgeons).
Dr. Eggl is married and has two daughters and two sons. He enjoys spending time with his family, riding horses, mountain biking, hunting, and fishing.
