COVID-19 Mitigation | Updated September 9, 2021

Call our new dedicated phone line for questions regarding COVID-19 vaccinations or COVID-19 Regeneron infusions:

Covid Hotline:  325-574-7125

Vaccinations:

Vaccinations work to create antibodies and are still our best line of defense against COVID-19. We offer vaccines Monday through Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm. Simply come to the Cogdell Family Clinic and request a COVID-19 vaccine, which we provide free of charge. Appointments or advance call-in is no longer necessary in order to get a vaccination.

Some people have expressed their hesitancy to come into the building to receive a COVID vaccine. People with COVID symptoms are seen primarily through telehealth visits, at the walk-in clinic or under urgent circumstances in the emergency room. We are using extra precautions to keep the building clean and sanitary; the clinic environment is safe.

COVID-19 Regeneron Antibody Infusions:

If you have tested positive for COVID-19 there are some treatment options that are available at Cogdell Memorial Hospital for patients meeting the guidelines. If you do test positive, please call 325-574-7125 to see if you qualify for the criteria for Regeneron. This infusion may reduce the risk of being hospitalized due to COVID.

We will accept positive COVID test results from home testing, direct testing school testing, testing from outside our facility or a test ordered by a physician.

There is a specific window of opportunity for Regeneron infusions, so it’s important to get tested and to receive the infusion as early as possible. If you wait until you are really sick, the Regeneron will not help you, and in fact may make things worse.  Infusions are scheduled at Cogdell Hospital seven days a week.

Criteria for Regeneron Antibody Infusions:

The criteria may continue to change, but these are some considerations of people considered at risk for progression of severe COVID:

  • Age greater than or equal to 65 years old
  • Obesity or overweight (BMI 25 or higher, which is thinner than you think)
  • Pregnancy
  • Diabetes
  • Chronic lung disease such as COPD, and pulmonary hypertension
  • Asthma, cystic fibrosis and Interstitial lung disease
  • Immunosuppressive diseases including high blood pressure
  • Sickle cell disease
  • Neuro developmental disorders or conditions that confirm medical complexity such as genetic or metabolic syndrome and severe congenital anomalies
  • Diseases or medicines which affect the immune system function
  • Having a medical related technology dependence such as tracheostomy or gastrostomy

Our capacity to provide these infusions depends on the availability of supplies. Regeneron availability is improving, but is not guaranteed.

What Can I do to Protect Myself?

With the number of COVID-19 cases rising rapidly in the surrounding area, we must take every step now to slow the spread of the virus – to preserve the precious healthcare resources to care for those who will soon need them.

Stay Home – Stay Safe orders will save lives.  By following the order, we can reduce the number of people who need hospitalization all at once, enabling us to manage the coming COVID-19 patients while also serving people with many other conditions who will continue to need us.

Cogdell supports Scurry County’s Stay Home – Stay Safe Order directing the residents of Scurry County to stay home and limit movement outside their homes beyond what is absolutely necessary in order to reduce the risk of COVID-19 for themselves and this community.

STAY HOME WHENEVER POSSIBLE

We cannot emphasize enough how important it is to avoid any unnecessary social contact.
