Cogdell Memorial Hospital will hold its Annual Heath Fair and Pink Run on Saturday, October 12th. The continued success and growth led organizers to relocate the event to Towle Park. “We reached our capacity,” says Valerie Morris. “Moving the event to the park will allow us to host more vendors, add more activities for kids, and has allowed us to add a 10K race in addition to the 5K and 1-mile events.” Last year, over 300 participants signed up for the Pink Run, which was held in the neighborhood surrounding the hospital. Funds raised from the event will go towards helping uninsured and underinsured women access mammograms for $50 or free of charge. “Screening mammograms have saved lives,” says Lupe Lazcano, RT, Director of Radiology. “1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer in their lifetime, and screening mammograms are the best method to detect breast cancer early. ”
Tara Camp, Community Liaison for Cogdell Memorial Hospital, said, “We expect to have an even bigger turnout this year. To make the registration process easier, we have teamed up with Athlete Guild, who will handle the online registration and timing for the event.” Check-in will be outside of the Towle Park Armory beginning at 7:30 am. Race times will be staggered with the 10k beginning at 08:30 AM, 5K at 8:45 AM, and the 1 Mile Fun Run starting at 9:00 AM. Registration is September 1st-30th either online or in-person and is $30 for participants 13-99+ and $25 for those 12 & younger. Those who register by September 30th will receive a free t-shirt. If you prefer to register in-person, stop by the Radiology Department between 8 am – 5 pm Monday – Friday. Those who miss the registration deadline will be able to register at 7:30 am the morning of the run.
