GENERAL
Position Overview
Provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse or physician. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, emotional support and performs more complex clinical skills under the direction of an RN.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
High school graduate or equivalent; completion of a nurse aide training course.
Experience
Must have a minimum of one year of experience in a hospital or nursing home aide experience preferred.
Knowledge Of
Current knowledge and skills in performing job responsibilities specific to the age and type of patient population served. General practice medicine and medical terminology as it relates to job; standard diagnostic and medical equipment and instruments; basic computer Microsoft Office skills.
Certification/Licensure
Current certification as a Nurse Aide in the State of Texas; BLS
Personality / Interpersonal Skills
Appreciation of and the desire to be part of a health care team dedicated to providing patients optimal care.
