We are very fortunate to have a locally owned hospice agency which is managed through Cogdell Memorial Hospital. Our local hospice team is committed to serving our patients and their families with their end of life needs in the Snyder and surrounding areas. Some of the services provided by Cogdell Hospice are: Nursing Care, Physicians, Certified Nurse’s Aids, Social Services, Pastoral Care, Volunteer Services, Medical Equipment and Medication Management.
Our newest service addition is our grief support group. We felt this was a much needed service to provide support for those who have had a recent profound loss. This support group isn’t just for the families of our hospice patients. It’s open for anyone in the public who have lost a loved one. In the past 2 years, many in our community have lost loved ones to Covid, and we felt this was another reason this support group was necessary.
Everyone responds to grief differently. There is no timeline for how long a person grieves the loss of their loved one. This group helps those who are grieving to know they’re not alone in their journey. Gaining support and reassurance from others helps them in handling their own grief.
