GENERAL
Position Overview
Responsible for the direction of patient care services in the Perioperative Services and Ambulatory Services units. Consults with staff, physicians and Nurse Administration on nursing problems and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met. Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Assists in formulating budget.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Graduate of an accredited school for Registered Nursing. BSN preferred.
Experience
At least two (2) years of nursing management experience. At least two (2) years of experience in surgical nursing.
Knowledge Of
Proficient computer skills; works well with others, possessing tact, discretion and diplomacy; able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing; strong interpersonal skills required.
Licenses / Certifications / Registries
Current RN license from the State of Texas Board of Nurse Examiners with renewal as required by law; current BLS or ACLS.
