Outpatient LVN

GENERAL
Position Overview

The Surgical Services Outpatient LVN  has the overall responsibility for providing direct and indirect care to the ambulatory patient needs (infusions, injections, etc.) and surgery patients’ pre and post operatively.  The Outpatient LVN  collaborates and effectively communicates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education

Graduate from an accredited school of vocational nursing

Experience

Minimum of one (1) year experience in pre or postoperative setting (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications and electronic health records systems; strong organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; ability to multitask effectively, dealing with phone calls, patients, staff and others pleasantly; knowledge of general operating room equipment; aware of surgical fire risks and understands the role of the Surgical Services team in preventing and responding to surgical fires.   Additional languages preferred

Licenses / Certifications /  Registries

Current licensure from the State Board of Nurse Examiners by the State of Texas with renewal as required by law; current BLS, ACLS, and PALS required.
