Mid-Level Practitioner (NP or PA) – Wound Care

GENERAL
Position Overview
The Mid-Level practitioner is responsible for providing specialized care to patients with wounds, ensuring their comfort and promoting health.  Attends all departmental, organizational, and medical staff (as appropriate to departmental rules and regulations) committee meetings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.

Experience

Previous experience in wound care.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong knowledge and experience in wound care management.  Proficient computer skills including Microsoft applications; strong reasoning/critical thinking skills; advanced knowledge of performance improvement and risk management techniques, tools and principles; conflict resolution.

Licensure/Certification

Must be a licensed as a Physician Assistant or Advance Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Texas with renewal as required by law.  Current CPR or BLS certification required.   If prescriptive authority for controlled substances is delegated, must have a Texas Department of Public Safety Controlled Substances permit and a Drugen Enforcement Agency (DEA) certificate.
